Review: Torn
My rating: 2 of 5 stars
I feel so damn sad about not being able to give one of JLA's books full FIVE stars! I really wanted too. Even before the book came out I wanted to. But I am glad I didn’t. Because this book is no more than 2.5 STARS worth....
I didn’t like this book as much as I loved wicked. Maybe I have grown up and that kills. I had skyscraper high hopes for this book. But it was a huge disappointment. It seemed to me as if JLA was focusing more on the sexiness of her characters, on the junk-slash-manparts (no kidding she used these exact words) of her characters and on the universal hotness of her characters. Also she totally focused on all the ways a person could have sex, example: cowboy style. (*vomits*)
Also the cover! DAMN YOU JLA! The guy is cute enough.. yes cute because seriously no abs and Pecs visible only flabby muscles and the girl? Ewww! The red and green look barf worthy! And combined with the blue back ground *barfs again*
I had huge hopes for the prince. But surprise surprise, the prince is just your average dickish faery who loves having sex. Yes, he is a total man whore. But for some reason, even though he is a cruel faery who is going to get his way soon, he listens to Ivy's demands while acting like a surly teenager.
So Ivy is some kind of sex maniac because that's all she thinks about around Ren.
Ivy: *see's Ren* OMG!! He is so hot, so sexy! those abs, those Pecs! *drools*
Ren: Aww that's so cute! Let's go to your room *thinking* I am such a smartass
So other than that Ivy's thoughts are really foolish and immature. And she still thinks she is some kind of universal braniac or something
Ren... I am not even going to touch that topic except for saying that he is totally kinky dickish bastard. I mean come on! They talk so damn dirty with each other that I actually threw up while reading.
The only ray of sunshine that I can cling to is .....TINK!!! Tink my baby my little (view spoiler) brownie!! He is totally awesome! And might I mention kickass? Because that Amazon lover is totally kickass. Tink come and live with me and you can have all the Amazon you could possibly want!!
All in all a HUGE mega disappointment I should have just read Harry potter and the cursed child.
