Review: It Ends with Us
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This book is 4 STARS worth.
OK can I just say that this is the first time in my life that I felt that I shouldn't have read this book? I mean not because it was bad. (it wasn't bad it was actually quite good) It was just the fact that, even though I knew that CoHo writes on some social evils, I did not expect this! this... This was something I shouldn't have been exposed to.. at least not until I was 20 or something! but I guess this is what it means to be a reader. I get to live a thousand lives in this one life. There's a saying:
"No man under the sun can live twice"
I disagree I've lived more than a 200 times. each time a different life a different story.
so this life? this life was something I never want to live through again. This life broke something inside me when I lived it. It was so damn depressing. so damn hard to navigate. This was... sad? I dont know. This was something that felt very very despondent to me. It was... Abuse. more accurately Spouse abuse. CoHo writes so good that It actually felt real. It killed me to keep reading but I did. I think that I read the whole book because I know that I need this life lesson. I need to know that the real world out there isn't a fairytale. it isnt filled with sunshine and it certainly aint a walk in a park. Its different shades of grey. and more like a walk through a swamp if you ask me. This book thought me a life lesson. It thought me one the realities that we need to face.
