Review: The Star-Touched Queen
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
This book was a surprise!
I really didn't want to read this book. I mean it sounded Indian and stuff so I thought pass, because for some reason the only myths I love are Greek and Viking themed. So I was totally gonna pass this (and I did for about 4 months) and then I was like what the heck, lets give it a try. And here I am, actually LIKING the book!
REASONS WHY I DIDN'T READ THIS BOOK
I didn't like the cover. It was too dark and the colour combinations felt all wrong to me (I hate pink and orange combination! ew!)
I didn't like the theme (before)
I didn't want to try out an author I knew nothing about.
REASONS I FEEL LIKE A COMPLETE IDIOT NOW
The theme turned out to be totally interesting and fun.
I really liked the story-line.
The writing was all dreamy like.
Loved the world building (though maybe its an actual myth?? I wouldn't know O_o)
It had a steady rhythm.
I liked the couple.
So after reading the only thing I didn't like was that there was next to know character description. Most people viewed this as a plus point but I didn't like it. I really like detailed description so that I can imagine my character. Due to the vague description, I had a blurred picture of Amar in my mind and almost no image of Maya. The only person I got right was Gupta and maybe Kamala. Also I didn't like that Amar was totally absent for the most part of the book. I mean it totally revolved around Maya. Its supposed to revolve around both hero and heroine!! anyways it was a goodread (:P)
